    AE2 API help

Hello everyone! I want to use AE2 api. But i don't know the formats of the tables that functions take or return. Where can i learn these easily?
  3. Recently, I had and idea that I could do the big "factory" for any software, that would copy and paste the software )such as openos or data card software) to floppy disks (yeah, that idea is stupid). But I have gone to a problem. I have a REALLY HUGE stack of disk drives, but I do not want to copy every program to every floppy disk manually (I would need to get the dress of floppy, I would need to copy and blah), but what IF the disk drives have their own adress? What if I could just write these programs via the adress of the disk drive? Of course, if you have any other idea, then I will be very happy to get any solution.
  4. So, for a few days now (apparently about five days according to GitHub - it seems a lot longer), I've been trying to work on a pretty simple package container solution. The idea being just like a tar container, it is just a group of files and folders, stored in a single file. Currently, I am not working on implementing any sorts of compression, that's much too difficult and I wanna make sure the core system works first. I designed a primitive specification for the package, and created a method in a library to create the package. That I was okay with. Extracting all the information from this package is where my head is starting to spin, haha. Frankly, if there's already an existing solution, I'd really prefer to use that. Programming something like this means fixing countless bugs and writing entire libraries before the product is even stable enough to be used by people in the first place! If something does exist, please do tell me. If nothing like this exists, I would appreciate some assistance at very minimum brining version one up to at least a functional level. By help, I mean that while developing the unpacking code right now, I'm pretty much running around with my eyes closed. Anything that makes this process less horrific, is really really appreciated. This project was started, because I wanted to start a little package manager project too. I know OOPM exists, but I wanna make one, simply because I can. That's besides the point. While the package format is designed for this use, it should be usable on its own based on my format. I know the format is ... meh ... at best. I already have a new structural system in mind for version two. However, before I go off redoing this project, I want to at least get version one working! I have pretty much very social media outlet in the App Store, even some I can't fully understand (such as QQ since I'm [procrastinating] learning Mandarin)! Discord, Skype, and all those common ones of course, so I should be easy to contact if need be. I'd really appreciate any leads for existing software you find, or any help you can provide at least getting V1 working. -- UPDATE -- Wow. I really forgot to add the link to the GitHub repository for this project. The repository is here [https://github.com/OcilDiamond/opkgf]. Tangent about V2 While I'm talking about it, I'll mention how I plan on redoing the internal structure of the packages. Right now, to read anything you need to scan it from the start and search for flags that say that an attribute has ended, that a section has begun, etc. The main change in my new theoretical design, is that the package descriptor and metadata sections will be partly fixed-length. Meaning, in the beginning of the package will be a fixed-length table. This table will contain the pointers and sizes of various values. Meaning, regardless of the size of the title for the package, the descriptor table will always be exactly the same length. Importantly, it will contain a pointer to the body structure, where the new design is really different. In the V2 system, there will be an actual hierarchy stored. At the lowest level, the first object a package's tree will have is (a) trunk(s). This can either be a relative trunk (meaning it allows for the package to extract to whatever directory you're in), or an absolute trunk (so it can install library files into /lib). Everything else in the package will be a child of a trunk. Along with that, every object must have a unique ID (unique, in the sense that it's not reused within the same package). To store and recall the data, instead of having every file and folder prefix with a special identifier, attributes terminating in nulls, the content, and more nulls (as V1 does) it will use a table at the beginning of the body section to find data. This table will be variable length, since it changes based on the contents, but it would be a simple linked list. The first portion of each row would be fixed-length, containing things like the file's ID, it's parent ID, it's type (file, folder, trunk), and a pointer to the next object in the list. After that comes the name of the object, but that's last since it's variable length. Meaning, if you load only the file directory table into memory, you can pick and choose which files to extract, analyse the structure, etc. Since the IDs and pointers for the files themselves are stored separately from the data, it's nice and easy to load into memory, it shouldn't be extremely large, and should be easy to work with. One change that could be made, is have two variable length attributes in each file directory row. Now each row also contains the pointers of the children of that object. That would make viewing the hierarchy itself very easy and quick to do, since jumping between nodes would be simple and easy. I figured I would give a description of this format just in case. I may start working on this before V1 even get's finished. The reason is, this will likely be its own GitHub repository, since this data structure could be used for other things potentially too, like databases. Again, thanks for any help you can provide, or information you can give. Sorry this message is so long, I'm not the best at writing short concise messages - as you can see, I'm more of a long, detailed, rambling on type of writer. I'll just stop writing now. Thanks again!
  5. Im new to this mod and to lua. Im trying to start with a simple program that can read redstone signals and detect their levels. I have basic lua knowledge, knowing commands like [do], [if], [if else], [read] and [while]. A bit of boolean [True, false] and create variables. I made a small computer with the redstone card (and the essentials like EEPROM, GPU, CPU and RAM). Its connected with red wires from red power that are connceted to a lever. I have the compat module from redpower installed. My main question is what I need to write in the .lua file to be able to use the redstone card and what commands I need to the program detect the signal and use it for a boolean variable or something else? Thank you Mr. Stairs
  6. I am trying to program an info board with options for players to choose. Each button opens up text to give info to the player. local event = require("event") local comp = require("component") local term = require("term") local colors = require("colors") local computer = require("computer") local gpu = component.gpu term.clear() term.setCursor (1,1) gpu.setBackground(colors.green) gpu.setForeground(colors.black) gpu.setResolution(width: 2 , height: 2, true) print(" Welcome to Technopolis " ) term.setCursor(1,3) gpu.setBackground(colors.brown) gpu.setForeground(colors.blue) print(" Info Rules Staff ") I use to program on computercraft back in 2013, but forgot a lot of stuff. I only got a small portion of the program but I don't know where to go from here. I couldn't find any helpful tutorials and some of them are out of date.
  7. I need help with nanomachine "probing". I'm trying to create a very basic program that cycles trough nanomachine slots. I intialize a variable in the beginning then create a for loop and increment the variable with 1 each time it's finishes. However it does not work. I can for example initialize the same variable in the first line, gave it a number and then it will check if that nanomachine slot do anything but as soon as I add the commented out code parts the program does nothing besided priting x. x = 17 local component = require("component") local m = require("component").modem local event = require("event") local term = require("term") --for i=1,10 do component.modem.broadcast(1, "nanomachines", "setInput", x, true) os.sleep(2) component.modem.broadcast(1, "nanomachines", "setInput", x, false) print(x) --x = x+1 --end
  8. Description: Hello, I would need a program that always me to control fluxgates from Draconic Evaluation so Me and a Team can build a town based energy system. The system should include a way to edit the output of a flux gate and to see how many fluxgates is setup( there will be probably around 30 fluxgates) it would be good if you can select a fluxgate and then edit how much energy is transferred. Function: Monitor the fluxgates and how much they output can edit the fluxgates set each fluxgate different Deadline: There is no deadline but it would be good if it would not take to long Additional Information: there is no limit from the use of resources it only should be makable in survival. Simply ask me if you have other questions can the program be sent over a text document so i could upload it on Pastebin or if the program could upload it on Pastebin would be ok additional information Optional if you can add a system that allows to pay for the energy that would be good it would need to have a currency for example coins and per 1 diamond you would get 5 coins it would need a system that can pay the energy per week real time it would need a system that changes diamonds to coins but this is only if the program like to make it I hope some can help me with this. 14. Hello all, I have used ComputerCraft for some time now, and have made a windowed, multitasking operating system supporting infinite programs running side by side. Each one is updated if it is active and paused while inactive. I deceided to port my OS to Open Computers, but realized that OC doesn't have any Window API or term.redirect functions unless I am blind. I have tested a few multitasking functions but have no idea where to start programming windows. Any help would be appreciated.
  15. Is there any way for a program to detect a world reload and turn itself off. I know it is a feature, but for this particular program I would like the computer to be non-persistent. Thanks!

Description: I am trying to get Nanomachines to work in 1.6, but every guide I follow doesn't work, every program I download fails, and I can't find any working documentation anywhere. Function: I'd like a program that works in 1.6, and creates a simple gui so I can easily turn on and off nano-machine outputs. Not only will this let me use nano-machines easily, but I can examine to code and begin to learn how they are actually used. Deadline: As soon as possible would be wonderful, though I imagine I'll need to wait days at least, and I'm fine with that.
  17. hello, I have been having some issues with creating a functional tree farm using a robot, and i was wondering if anyone was able to lend me a hand and help me try to work this out or create a program for me. i want it to place a sapling then detect when the tree has grown and start to remove the logs once it gets to the top place a sapling since there is no longer one there and wait for the tree to grow again. there is no need for it to remove all the leaves as i have a collection method in place already for this and large trees wont happen as i have blocks above it to prevent huge trees. Thanks
  18. So, I've built a few programs here and there for OpenComputers (using the FTB - Beyond modpack) and I got curious about the drones. Started fiddling with them and quickly realized I was over my head. I've watched some tutorials here and there, read some posts from every corner of the internet and can not, for the life of me get the drone to do anything. Are there any tutorials anywhere on the internet that are up to date? Thanks in advance!
  19. This is my first time using OpenComputers and I seem to have a strange issue. I put in the OS floppy to a robot and booted it up. To my surprise, the interface screen was completely unreadable. There are a few pictures attached. Any thoughts on how to fix this? Thanks!
  20. I am trying to make a program that will output a redstone signal to a light grey cable (from project red) so i can get enhanced portals 3 to activate a portal, but i can't get the redstone to work and i prefer using the computer. (uploading screenshots wouldn't work) error: /home/initialization:4: attempt to index field 'redstone' (a nil value): stack traceback: /home/initialization:4: in main chunk [C]: in function 'xpcall' machine:751: in function 'xpcall' /lib/process.lua:78: in function </lib/process.lua:71> stack traceback: [C]: in function 'error' /lib/process.lua:92: in function </libprocess.lua:71> the code: local component = require ("component") local component = require ("sides") component.redstone.setOutput(sides.back, colors.lightGrey, 16) print("Event Initialized")
  21. Who/Where do I ask to get an OpenPrograms Repo set up? I would like one to store my LuaFileSystem emulation for OpenOS so people can install it.
  22. The text that some programs output is way to large to fit on the screen currently I have some problems with ls (in direcotrys with a lot of stuff in it) and components Is there a way to scroll up or display it in a way where you can read everything or save the output in an file? or some diffren solution to the problem?
  23. So recently I installed OpenComputers because I thought it was cool, and to start a computer, a EEPROM containing a Lua BIOS is needed. i tried using both of the ones in the mod (EEPROM, EEPROM (Lua BIOS)) How do I program the EEPROM? I googled everything and none helped or was related to this topic... I probably sound like a total noob but i need to know how to get my computer running. thx
  24. When I try and combine multiple holograms to to the same map, it wont work. It only uses 1 projector and the other one does nothing. I'm trying to do this: http://i.gyazo.com/aeeb0326ccc543cdb810acab18172001.png (without the black background unless that is an unfixable glitch). I've tried connecting 2 projectors to 1 computer and starting geo2holo, but it wont work. I checked the wiki, and it said there is a way to expand the size, but im not sure if it ment in configuration or in the actual game.
  25.
