Question about keyboards

i can't find Does anyone know of a way to use a keyboard without a screen? I'd like to do some building design with a hologram as my display but I would still need a keyboard for input.

 

I doubt it is possible in the base mod as keyboards don't seem to be components (they lack a LUA API and I don't think they have addresses) but maybe someone knows of an add-on mod that changes this.

(Answer may be wrong) I don't think there is. Although as everyone else will say, you are welcome to make your own add-on mod.

Keyboards themselves do not have a gui, they just allow you to open screens as a gui. They're useless without a screen near them. Also, they do act as components, this can be seen by running the components program that comes with OpenOS.

 

Hologram projectors only allow edits via their component, which can only be used in a program. Unless I’m missing something, there's no way to input directly into HPs.

Keyboards are technically just "keyboard upgrades" for screens, they allow you to provide keyboard input when using a screen. As Gangsir said, you can't use them on their own, because they have no GUI.
