eslachance 1
Is there any plan for having a sound card and speakers? I don't know if the LUA engine has any access to Minecraft's sound API, but wouldn't it be cool if you could put in a sound card, connect some speakers and a screen, and get audio feedback on certain actions? I'm thinking: - Notification when an action has finished - Warning when something's wrong - Music (think 8-bit synthesizer, not MP3s) Like, I was just dreaming of someone reproducing or porting old DOS games like King's Quest or Leisure Suit Larry or Commander Keen and playing them inside of Minecraft
dgelessus 26
Maybe computer.beep is enough for you.
eslachance 1
But that's one beep at a time, isn't it? Polyphonic Ringtones were added to cellphones in 1998 or whatever, it'd be nice to have at least that
dgelessus 26
But... that's just one beep at a time, ten times in a row. (If computer.beep doesn't block while the tone plays, you can always use os.sleep.)
Michiyo 28
gamax92 created Mass Sound, an addon mod for OC http://oc.cil.li/index.php?/topic/115-mc-16417xoc-1311-masssound-addon/ lets you play most sounds registered in the game including sounds from most mods. Sangar 92
There's also the Beep Card in Computronics (at least I think that's what it's called?) which allows up to 8 concurrent beeps in the style of computer.beep.
