mpmxyz 27
I played around with drones today and just for fun I wanted to create some kind of bombing drone. To do that it would need to carry some payload to specified coordinates and "deliver" it there. The problem is the last part: Drones can't place blocks in midair and you can't give them an Angel Upgrade. Was that on purpose to make robots more powerful or is it an oversight? 0 Sangar 92
Uhh... I'm actually not sure anymore if there was a technical reason or if it was to give robots a bit of an edge.
0 Sangar 92
Ohh, on some further thought, I'm thinking this is a remainder from 1.4, where drones couldn't place blocks at all. So it was blacklisted to avoid people installing useless upgrades. I'll enable it in one of the next builds, will need to test if it actually works first and such. 0 mpmxyz 27
Nice. I see a swarm bombing program coming up soon... (sounds like a good opportunity to try out networking)
0 Solution Sangar 92 Posted March 30, 2015 Solution Share Posted March 30, 2015 Well, it currently doesn't work quite right, because while robots can basically "place the blocks against themselves" the drones can't do that, so weird things happen. I created an issue on Github so I don't forget about this.
