Checking if a function exists

Question

Hi! I'm creating a program that uses external components.
To make it work with any component that I plug in, I want to check if I can use the function " component.(component's name).getOutput() " (wich should work with all of mekanism's blocks that transfers energy)

I've already checked official lua tutorials on that topic but searching for the function in "_G" didn't work for me.
Perhaps "component" is an alias of something else but I can't seem to find what...

You'll want to use the component.methods function.

if component.methods('component_uuid')['method_name'] then
  -- # method is present
end

Thank you! That was exactly what I was looking for! ;)
