  1. NEW: reference server and client can be installed with oppm!!!

WsarE is a program/protocol/standard/whatever-you-want-to-call-it about streaming programs.
WsarE stands for "WsarE streams and runs Executeables", which describes what it does very well.

    Features:

Safe - Runs programs in a safe sandbox

Small - needs almost no space, can be put together with openOS and NoteAL on a floppy(probably even more)

Easy - users dont need to worry about copying files and such(as long there is someone hosting a server)

Expandable - The (dirt simple) protocol can be extended without touching the client

Dispenser-Powered - WsarE is powerd by the dispenser liberary, that means it works on almost every network configuration!

Please find the standard client here: https://github.com/OpenPrograms/Wuerfel_21-OC-Toolkit

    Client instructions:

    1. Get oppm

    2. run "oppm install wsare" to install it

    3. run "man wsare" to get more information

    Server instructions:

    1. install the server

    2. put plugins and data in /usr/wsare

    3. run the server

    4. profit

  2. Sorry for being a bit rude, had a bad day. And when dropping big files onto floppies you should except this. Also empty files have a size of some bytes. You need to delete big files ingame for the floppy to notice. Otherwise the game just replaces the file....

  3. I cant give you 20,21,23 and 25, would you be statisfied with 50,51,53,55? Just 30 ports later.
The other will be resesved right after this post

    MERGE:

Oh, just seeing that 53 is already reversed too, 54?

  4. well, if you want to make a clone of some protocol, and its original port is free you can cliam the port, if not then a different number isnt really much of a difference, i dont want to hinder you recreating real stuff, you can reserve ports to your liking(not like reserving 1000 ports for one program or such), but people building special programs for OC should not get limited by real stuff

  5. If I want to make a ssh for OpenComputers, it would be natural for most people to use port 22, not some arbitrary other port because someones multiplayer game already uses that port.

Would be the exact right way, again, oc networks are so different from real ones and will never ever communicate with them (expect for internet cards for which applying real world rules would make sense), so using the same concepts as for real network dont makes any thing better, its just more complicated and unoriginal.

Edit: does anyone want creepers in reallife?

Edit:this discussion should be moved to another thread, to not spam this one with this
