I'm working on a feature of OpenComputers that adds CPU temperature and adds a choice to the player: either lower the CPU clock for power consumption or turn on a "fan" component for performance

	This could also add overclocking

Please note that I only started working on that yesterday so I can't present this functionality yet

I'm here once again with a new addon mod for OpenComputers (Unlike most of my others this one works without OC too). OpenFM allows you to stream from lots of online radio streaming services to your Minecraft world, all sound playing is done client side so there is little added load server side. OpenFM supports Streaming audio in MPEG 1/2/3 format, or pls/m3u playlists linking to MPEG 1/2/3 sources.

Downloads are at: http://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/openfm

Source is at: https://github.com/PC-Logix/OpenFM

Usage:

fm = components.openfm_radio
fm.setURL("http://listen.radionomy.com/DeepHouse")
fm.start()
fm.stop()
fm.volUp()
fm.volDown()
fm.getVol()

There should be an addon mod that implements a Lua 5.1 CPU and a CraftOS floppy disk (maybe even a ComputerCraft EEPROM). Programs ran on it would behave exactly like they would in ComputerCraft. The CraftOS floppy should work similarly to the OpenOS one (CraftOS runs from floppy by default but with an install command to install to local disk). There should also be support for all OpenComputers as well as ComputerCraft peripherals (including from other mods)

Hey! This is my new mod, Computronics. It adds some new interesting peripherals, including simple Cameras, Cassette Tapes and MiscP's Iron Note Blocks.

The Cameras let you (and Robots) gather information (distance) about your surroundings, the Cassette Tapes let you record and play back music with a special format and... Iron Note Blocks are noteblocky. More features are planned, though!

THIS MOD IS NO LONGER SERVICED, PLEASE DOWNLOAD THIS INSTEAD!!!

A while ago there was a post on here about someone making custom cases, I am not that person but I do have a release. This may be improved upon in the future but as of right now it is in a completely usable state.

This is a client side replacement for opencomputers. Do not use with normal opencomputers. This will be updated to release versions of OC and will not be for 1.7.10

Theoretically this should be usable as a client connecting to a server with normal opencomputers, this was not tested.

To use this install this modified version of opencomputers, it includes a custom case with it. If you want a different case you can choose to install a resource pack, I have made 2 so far. If a resource pack says it is incompatible for any reason ignore it, it's a single number in the pack.mcmeta that has to be different for certain minecraft versions, it will not effect the pack.

The default case that comes with the mod:

I have finally gotten to the point where I feel I am capable enough to write an addon mod for OpenComputers. This addon is the result of my desire to provide useful mechanics which are gated behind OpenComputers knowledge and infrastructure. As the title of this post suggests, this addon will focus on the manipulation of matter (and energy) through the use of OpenComputers components. All machines in this addon/mod will require OpenComputers to function. This mod will not feature any GUIs, besides the interfaces OpenComputers itself provides.

	Planned content (may change):

	- A Transporter system similar to the technology of the same name seen in Star Trek. (This will be the first feature added and is currently being worked on)

	- A viable endgame power source (power output comparable to Mekanism's Fusion Reactor) in the form of a matter-antimatter reactor.

	- An Energy->Matter converter similar to the Replicator technology seen in Star Trek.

Any ideas or feedback on this project is welcome!

This mod is currently in an alpha state due to very limited testing, but should be usable.

so I'm starting on the latest version of minecraft so I'll have something decent by the time enough decent mods have been ported to the version.
(basically working my way into the modding community)
so don't expect to see this mod released for a while.

feel free to jump in and lend any info you may have to help me make this better

Minecraft is a game about creativity, so why not extend it with something purely creative.

This mod will add the ability to manipulate "physical" light through the use of the OC computer.
The inspiration and idea for this mod came from both the OpenGlasses mod (being able to program virtual holograms), and the concept of Hard Light.
(credit to Loggren aka RickyTheVoice for being the first to inform me about the concept on my forum.)

Hard Light is a concept by which holograms can physically interact with you, whether it be:
- standing on a floating "magical" platform
- protecting your base from intruders with a force-field
- cloaking your base (this would actually be less CPU-tasking than a massive area of sky-blocks)
- defining entities in the world (mobs or pets)
- programming tools weapons or magical abilities

	Sources:
http://reddwarf.wikia.com/wiki/Hologram
https://www.filterbypass.me/s.php?k=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.halopedia.org%2FHard_light&b=4&f=norefer
http://theportalwiki.com/wiki/Hard_Light_Bridge

	a bit far-fetched here, but:
http://overwatch.gamepedia.com/Hard-light

Now yes, because it's Hard Light, aside from getting in your way and/or supporting you, it'll also be able to break blocks and/or hurt you...
So to add some grief-control, I'll be adding area definitions to the LUA-API, to secure blocks that hard light will simply "pass through".
(This means other players won't be able to mine your blocks with hard-light tools)
^ I will also try to integrate into current grief-prevention systems, so you can use factions or claims to do this for you

The light casted is also controlled via the LUA-API (see the next post below for format descriptions).

Like a real GPU, the projector will act as a server for storing model data (as arrays) when supplied with RAM.
And like modern 3D engines, The LUA-API will allow you to control the data uploaded to the projector.
This basically means you can upload say, a vertex array, and then modify it through your program's run-loop.

@TheMightyPirates: (regarding an earlier issue) yes this means I'm providing a sandboxed interface, I'm experienced with this thanks to my model converter's scripting interface.

Now, the mod will provide it's own type of RAM which will be significantly larger and faster than the RAM provided by OC.
Note that crafting RAM is not meant to be cheap, with a recipe similar to OC's T3.5 RAM, for a base craft of 2MB in size.
2MB will typically be all you'll need for pretty much anything... (the Wii's embedded GPU-RAM is 3MB to give you an idea)
Any higher amounts of RAM are crafted from an X2 recipe (like OC Lights) up to 256MB maxed for those who want to build complete virtual worlds with alot of GFX.
(go crazy with your creative skillz, just be careful to consider other people who'll see your stuff, they may not have the hardware power you have)

I will try to automate available GPU-RAM detection, which should allow you to define whatever you want w/o hurting anyone else.
if the end-user's GPU-RAM is full, the data will simply not be displayed...
Note that distance, clipping, and render-priority plays a part in the data uploaded to the actual GPU, so really this shouldn't be a problem

Aside from RAM, each projector will also have a default range before the light "weakens" or fades out (unless given the Ender upgrade),
so range upgrades (crafted in the same way as RAM, though limitless) will allow you to extend your projection range, simply adding the multiple to the default range until maxed.
The more upgrade power you have, the less power you'll use at a closer range, and the farther you'll be able to project hard light.
(this also affects tools which will show a faded version in your inv when you're out of range or don't have enough power to use)

Power usage affection at max distance is default_power + ( upgrade_power * .25 ) which actually cuts power usage at the default distance.

Now with the Ender upgrade, projecting long distances will need to use extreme amounts of power (WIP), where installing range upgrades simply reduces the amount of power used (WIP).
(theoretically though, you should be able to project at any location, as long as you can supply enough power)

Here's a chart listing the tier ranges and RAM limits:

Tier | max RAM | block-range | color-depth
------+---------+-------------+-------------
  1 | 64MB | 16 - 384 | bitmap (B/W)
  1.5 | 64MB | 16 - 384 | grayscale
  2 | 128MB | 48 - 4096 | 16 color
  2.5 | 128MB | 48 - 4096 | 256 color
  3 | 256MB | 64 - ∞ | 16bit RGB5A3
  3.5 | 256MB | 64 - ∞ | true-color
  4(C)| ∞ | ∞ + upgrade | true-color

yes, T4 is actually creative, meaning no limits on anything (including power) (unlike OC's cases)

One thing I can't seem to completely figure out though is minecraft's collision code.

Boxes don't collide well with triangles.

So I'm looking into modifying minecraft's Entity class, replacing the default collision functions with my own.

Could use a few pointers though about what to avoid since I don't know much about minecraft's source...

so I've modified the widget class to inherit from the Entity class, and everything broke.

so here's what I've currently got:

that error doesn't crash the client, but trying to add the triangles kicks me off the local server.

I'm probably doing something insanely stupid without realizing it...

EDIT: should've also mentioned I have no internet at home...

I do have a bunch of sources from various mods though which I'm using for examples.

Remember: If you have any ideas for this, feel free to post here or PM me.

	Notes and plans:

	- [removed] custom player models will require a separate mod (you can't cloak yourself as a mouse and expect to fit in a mouse-hole)

	- [removed] world casting can be done via a void world with RFTools or MystCraft and the like (otherwize things would clash)

	- [planned] basic and ender projector upgrades for robots and drones (limited with 64MB RAM and a 48, 96, or 128 block range with half the power use)

While technically an addon to AlgorithmX2's Chisels & Bits, this mod allows you to export a Chisels & Bits block as a model description file for use with the OpenComputers 3D printer. The format is the one used by the print3d program available via oppm. Shape count limits apply of course, but the mod tries to combine adjacent bits of the same type as good as I could make it. Exporting two blocks at once mapped to passive and active state is possible.

Note: This mod doesn't have it's own Creative tab, the comonent(s) show up in the OpenComputers tab.

Download

You can get the latest builds from the jenkin's server: http://pc-logix.com/mods/ICBMComponent/artifacts/
You can find the source code on github, here: https://github.com/bizzycola/ICBMComponent/

Easy Mode
This is the default mode, it has one single block. The OC ICBM Component Block.
This block, when placed next to the launch controller and connected to OC(via a cable or being next to it) will allow you to control the launcher via OC code.

Recipe:

Iron nugget, Microchip(Tier 1), iron Nugget

Microchip(Tier 1), Printed Circuit Board(PCB), Microchip(Tier 1)

Iron Nugget, Microchip(Tier 1), Iron Nugget

(Note: This is the same recipe as the Tier 1 component in Hard Mode).

Hard mode
This mode has the same methods and everything as the easy mode, but it instead has 3 tiers of component block, as the ICBM mod has 3 tiers of launchers. In this mode you need higher tiers for higher tier launchers.
So, a tier 1 component won't work with a tier 2 or 3 controller, but of course a tier 3 component will work with tier 1 and 2.
At this time, all 3 blocks look the same, but have different crafting recipes.
To enable hard mode, change the option in the ICBM Component config file.

Tier 1 Component

Compatible with: Tier 1 launcher

Recipe:

Iron nugget, Microchip(Tier 1), iron Nugget

Microchip(Tier 1), Printed Circuit Board(PCB), Microchip(Tier 1)

Iron Nugget, Microchip(Tier 1), Iron Nugget

Tier 2 Component

Compatible with: Tier 1 and Tier 2 launchers.

Recipe:

Iron nugget, Microchip(Tier 2), iron Nugget

Microchip(Tier 2), Printed Circuit Board(PCB), Microchip(Tier 2)

Iron Nugget, Microchip(Tier 2), Iron Nugget

Tier 3 Component

Compatible with: Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 launchers.

Recipe:

Iron nugget, Microchip(Tier 3), iron Nugget

Microchip(Tier 3), Printed Circuit Board(PCB), Microchip(Tier 3)

Iron Nugget, Microchip(Tier 3), Iron Nugget

Okay, so as you can see, to go up a tier, just use the next tier of Microchip.

These items used are part of the OpenComputers mod, which is obviously required!

Here is the actual block:

Methods

These are the methods available in the mod:
First off, to get the primary component:

local component = require("component")
local icbm = component.icbm_bridge

Now, for the actual methods..

icbm.isConnected() --Returns true if the component is connected to a launcher, false otherwise. If you try to use any other methods when it isn't connect, it'll error.

icbm.launch() --Launches the ICBM

icbm.canLaunch() --Returns true if the launcher can launch, false otherwise.

icbm.getStatus() --Returns a string of the controller status(will contain the error if it cannot launch)

icbm.getMissileType() --Returns the name of the missile in the launcher

x,y,z = icbm.getTarget() --Returns the coords of the target

icbm.setTarget(x,y,z) --Sets the launcher target

At this time the mod doesn't have support for turrets, radars, etc, but we're looking into it.

Have fun!

CREDITS

Me --I started the mod and did some stuff

Michiyo: Did most of the work, adding config, better detection, etc.
